Re: Blue Clay trail status

Hey can you PM his contact info? I need to call him so we can coordinate everything. If your talking about the first jump off to the right, Mark from suburban was out a couple weeks ago getting rid of the gaps and fixing the track. I haven't been since he was there, but he is working on the track to...

Re: Blue Clay trail status

I think Steve wants to do some raking, and a couple of short re-routes that make a lot of sense. Give him a call 443-8086.

Re: Ida Water

That structure cannot be updated. I'm not a big fan of using wood around here. Too much maintenance - nail pops, traction, inspections, etc. Doesn't hold up as well. For a skills area or short bridges it's fine. But that's up to the county - how much they want to put into this place. Right now it's ...

Re: Blue Clay trail status

Are you kidding? Anyone who messes with the pump track will answer to the county. And I'll find out who you are -- you're talking to the guy with a lot of camera equipment after all. We have some big douche bags around here I went to BC yesterday afternoon and someone had destroyed one of the mounds...

Blue Clay trail status

After tonight's ride folks have reported that the Juvenile side (beginner) is under water. It should not be ridden. Please avoid the entire area. Please enter the trail at the inner loop by going left after crossing the ditch and going in where you normally come out.

Thanks,
SBA

SORBA Chapter

At the Subaru/IMBA event we got around 25 new IMBA/SORBA members. We need 50 to start a local chapter: Cape Fear SORBA. Once we are a chapter we get the IMBA insurance which will allow us to build trail in new areas that may not have coverage for volunteers, such as RiverLights. So we really need pe...

Re: "silly bike lanes," says dana page.

Good riddance. I happen to be a fiscal conservative, and am appalled at the debt that our government is incurring. However, no matter what, all governments will run up debt, because that is how the system is designed. Governments issue debt to pay for services and must pay interest on that debt. The...

Re: "silly bike lanes," says dana page.

Wow. This guy's obviously got something against Obama and cyclists. What an ignorant redneck moron. I don't believe it's a roads vs. bike lanes thing anyway. Notice how he paints it this way. It's about giving people choice and lowering costs in the long run. What he is suggesting will actually incr...

Re: Guided Rides at Blue Clay

Didn't even know about this one. Last one was in the heat of summer and while I waited at the trailhead to take folks around I got the worst chigger bites I've ever had.

Is Dana Page on the City Council? Why isn't his name and contact info not on the City Council staff webpage: http://www.wilmingtonnc.gov/CityCouncil/ContactCityCouncil.aspx Didn't the City Council endorse and Bill Saffo sign a Proclamation back in May stating that the "Wilmington City Council i...

Re: "silly bike lanes," says dana page.

Tell that to Portland and Seattle, which now have 10% of the people commuting by bike. They save money and get healthy. Imagine that. The studies show that it saves money for everyone, not just cyclists/walkers -- check out the Rails-to-Trails report Active Transportation of America. Besides, much o...

Re: Lake Crabtree

The existing line is pretty much for beginners, all waist-high tables, but it's still fun. The new line they're putting in is chest to neck high, and all gaps. They looked really nice. I didn't ask him when he'd be finished. The weather hasn't been too good up there the last couple of weeks so I exp...
