Going Brazilian

Postby Rock Head » Sun Jul 11, 2010 1:12 pm

I wanted to find out if anyone else had a better approach to this problem that we have on our coastal trails. Because we have a considerably more sand within our trails, is there a suggested way to keep the cables from grinding into the frame as they move during a ride? My solution was to buy a package of velcro (3M has good adhesive) and apply the fuzzy half to critical frame/cable areas on the frame. I realize that this is a low-tech approach, but part of the MTB experience is being creative and working with what you have.

Most people just put clear protective tape between cables and frame. Also made by 3M. Most shops sell a more expensive "MTB Specific" tape.
